April. Time to GO! SO much happening in our world, sometimes I think it gets so overwhelming that people literally feel paralyzed trying to figure out what to do first.
Most exciting in our world is the upcoming launch of our Sunday Funday Farmer’s Market at Swan Song Saltwater Farm in Sullivan, Maine. We put the word out for vendors who, like me, believe in a plant based, cruelty free world and the responses are so inspiring. As we told the local newspaper, there are TONS of places in our area to buy seafood and meat :( but not enough focused on plants and healthy food and repurposed items - but there will be! Applications went out April 1 and we need them all back by May 1 so that we can set up our AWESOME market to start on Memorial Day Weekend.
We’re also working on booking bands and music, games for kids, making it a real community afternoon. By holding it on Sunday afternoon from 1pm-4pm we intentionally did not want to conflict with any other markets in the area and also allow those who participate in the Bar Harbor market in the morning to join us. The first year will be baby steps but I hope in years to come it will end up being a Sunday afternoon tradition, to stop by the market and listen to some tunes.
The market will be located in the open area next to our Watson Farmstore that has a gorgeous view across the Farm to the ocean. A farmer’s market WITH a view! Speaking of the Farmstore we have a new name and a new sign and have enhanced the store offerings this year. Even though the name of the Farm was Triple Horse when I bought it, the locals still refer to it as the Watson Farm. We love and respect the history of this property and decided to pay homage.
