Kimberly Swan

Kimberly Swan is the sole owner of Swan Agency Real Estate and Swan Hospitality Group in the Acadia National Park region of Maine. Swan Agency Real Estate has offices in key markets on the Downeast Maine coast including Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Sullivan. Swan Agency is a long time market leader in Hancock County and regularly holds top spots in the State of Maine for commercial sales thanks to their premier Statewide Hospitality Brokerage launched by Kim as a new broker in 1986. Kim is an active real estate investor both individually and with various partners.

Swan Hospitality Group is Swan's company dedicated to owning and developing hotel and lodging properties, including Bayview Hotel on the ocean in Bar Harbor and Pomegranate Inn in the heart of Portland Maine's coveted West End neighborhood. SHG is also behind Cygnet Gallery, an art gallery in Southwest Harbor, and an active partner in "The Nook", a book and pillow shop in the center of the village in Northeast Harbor.

Kim's passion is animal welfare and honoring and protecting those without a voice. Currently in search of an appropriate memorial to her recently lost beloved Yorkie, Ava, or providing monthly support to a now grown up rescued calf, Phoenix, at Peace Ridge Sanctuary, she works to support animal issues in any way she can. Most recently, Kim rescued two kittens adding Cygie and Tilly to her family

Current Board and volunteer positions include as Director of First National Bank since 2021, Board Member and Secretary of Bar Harbor Village Improvement Association, Co-founder of the MDI Pet Food Pantry's DIANA FUND, member of the YWCA MDI Steering Committee for affordable housing in Bar Harbor and a constant financial supporter and volunteer for myriad local charities.

In the Summer 2023 Kim's charitable efforts focused on her role as the founder and creative director of the Bar Harbor Designer Showhouse on Hamilton Hill. (Link here to something.) Hamilton Hill was the BHDS project's fourth Showhouse in ten years and benefitted Mount Desert Island Hospital. Together with Swan's companies, Decor Maine Magazine and an incredible team of the best designers working in Maine, the "mansion on the hill" was magically transformed.

The Swan Block in downtown Bar Harbor which houses the real estate company and tenant, Friends of Acadia, is also the new home of Swan Studio - a podcast studio designed for company use and rentals to other podcast enthusiasts.. Kim's podcast COLLABORATE MDI which will focus on the way MDI organizations can work together to maximize their mission and goals will launch in 2024. Swan hopes to help find ways to bring together a divided community with a fresh look at compromise and respect through enlightened and civil conversations about the challenges being faced.

"My ultimate goal in life is to have "philanthropist" as the word that identifies me and to make a profound difference in the lives and welfare of all animals, wild, farmed and companion, while I am here on earth with them and also after I am gone". Kimberly Swan
