The longer I am around the more I realize that everyone needs purpose, a reason to get up in the morning, a reason to believe that your existence contributes to the wellness of society. There comes a time in everyone’s lives, maybe several times in some, when you struggle to see what that purpose is. Should it just come to you? Or do you pursue it? Will you just know or do you need to dig down therapeutically to find it?
I also think in order to feel that you are worthy of taking up space on this planet that the purpose has to be deeper than just getting through the day.
I find practitioners who help people discover their purpose to be heroes among us. As usually happens, the most compassionate “counselors” are those who have conquered their respective challenge and are inspired to make it easier for other to do the same. That - right there - is a display of empathy and caring by sharing purpose. They aren’t bitter at having to find their way on their own but rather consider their struggle a gift that emboldened them to make a difference in helping others find their own.
What grander or more beautiful purpose can there be than helping others to find theirs? I find that incredibly inspirational and hope that one day through our work at Swan Song and Fox Pond we can enlighten someone’s journey
